Description
The Figure-8 Self-Supporting Cable (GYTC8S) is built for aerial spans where a separate messenger wire isn’t wanted – the steel messenger is built into the figure-8 cross-section alongside the fibre tubes, so the cable supports its own weight between poles. An aluminium polyethylene laminate moisture barrier protects the fibres, and the messenger itself is stainless or galvanised steel.
Available from 24 to 72 fibres, it suits mid-size aerial distribution runs – utility poles, estate perimeters, short cross-country hops – where installation speed matters and lashing a separate strand isn’t worth the extra step. It also handles duct and buried installation if the route changes partway through a project.
